PHILIPPINE SWINE BREED REGISTRY (PSBR) DATA PRIVACY POLICY
To uphold the privacy and protection of personal information, the Philippine Swine Breed Registry (PSBR) is committed to ensuring the confidentiality, security, and responsible management of personal data. - To conduct selection index and genetic evaluation studies by the administrator for breed improvement purposes.
III. What Personal Data are processed?
PSBR processes personal data that may include, but is not limited to:
- Personal details: Breeder name, contact information, farm location, farm description, and pictures.
- Swine registration details: Pig details including breed, sire and dam information, birth date, litter size, and performance data.
- Genomic results: Information related to genetic markers and other performance-testing data for pigs.
- Transaction data: Information regarding the transfer of ownership of pigs.
IV. How does PSBR process Personal Data and how long is Personal Data retained?
PSBR processes personal data through electronic and physical systems that are secure and in compliance with the Data Privacy Act. Personal data will be retained only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which they were collected, and in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, or contractual obligations. Once the data are no longer needed, they will be securely deleted or anonymized.
V. Where are Personal Data stored and how are these transmitted?
Personal data are stored in secure, authorized systems of BAI’s server [tentative] and transmitted in accordance with the Data Privacy Act. Appropriate measures are in place to protect the integrity and confidentiality of the personal data.
VI. Data Privacy Agreement
By registering and uploading data to the PSBR system, users acknowledge and agree that:
- The data uploaded in the registry can be downloaded and used by the administrator for selection index and genetic evaluation purposes.
- This use of data is essential for breed improvement research and maintaining the integrity of the swine registry.
- All data will be handled in accordance with this privacy policy and applicable data protection laws.
VII. What are the rights of PSBR Users?
PSBR Users have the following rights under the Data Privacy Act:
- Right to be informed about the collection and processing of personal data.
- Right to access personal data held by PSBR.
- Right to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
- Right to erasure or blocking of personal data when they are no longer needed for the purposes for which they were collected.
- Right to damages in the event of data privacy violations, subject to the provisions of applicable laws.

PSBR Users are responsible for:
